A word about WITW from our President

Being a member of WITW is not only great recognition and very empowering, it is also truly a lot of fun. I would never have believed that I would be so invested in a national organization like WITW and loving every minute of it…but here I am, President of the Sun Angels Chapter and quite proud of it!

In 1979, Becky Brown placed an ad in her local newspaper in an effort to find other women motorcyclists to ride with. As a result, eleven women joined Becky in creating a new, all-women, motorcycle group they called Women in the Wind (WITW).

In 2009, WITW celebrated its 30th anniversary and now has more than 1000 members in over 80 chapters located in the U.S., Great Britain, Canada, and Australia.

Along with several other accomplishments, Becky has been inducted into all three Motorcycle Halls of Fame; Hall of Fame in Anamosa, Iowa, AMA Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio, and the Hall of Fame in Sturgis, South Dakota.

The goal of WITW is to educate members in motorcycle safety and maintenance unite women motorcyclists with friends of common interest, and promote a positive image to the public of women on motorcycles.
